Dear all colleagues,
We, Ho Chi Minh City Society of Dental Implantology (HSDi), would like to send you our warmest and kindest greeting.
On the special occasion of the 10-year anniversary of HSDi and 25-year time since Dental Implantology first came to Vietnam, HSDi would like to organize the “Dental Funny Stories and Comics” Contest in order to create a mental playground as well as to hope that laugh and joy would be spread out everyday in our society.
CONTEST RULES:
- Compose short funny stories or draw funny comics on dental topics. One contestant can have multiple submissions.
- The funny stories should be less than 200 words and composed by the contestant. Additional illustration images is appreciated.
- Comics can be either colored or black and white, with words or without. Please kindly attach with the explanation about the comic meanings. Image files should be .pdf or .jpeg.
- The submissions should be appropriate with the contest topics. It must not violate any laws or regulations, contain any vulgar words, personal or organization offensive languages.
- Submissions will be spread out throughout the dental society via Facebook. Judges will base on like and share count of each submission to consider the winner.
- Eligible submissions will be collected to publish “Dental Funny Stories” journal, in possession of HSDi. After each story and comic, author’s name will be written.
- We plan to publish 2.000 journals to give away at the HSDi Congress 2019.
- Chosen funny stories and comics will be stored on the HSDi website.
PARTICIPANTS:
Dentists, dental technicians, students, assistants and all employees working in the dental field or dental company.
SUBMISSION GUIDE:
- Submissions should be in Vietnamese with accents and correct spelling.
- Font: Times New Roman, 12pt
- Authors please kindly PDF or JPEG file of the submission (funny stories, comics) to email: thuky@implanthcm.com and Cc: nguyenthiminhhien86@gmail.com with the Subject: “Dental funny stories and comics” contest – Name of author.
- At the end of the submission, please kindly provide: Full name, Gender, Year of birth, Occupation, Work place, telephone number, email and Facebook (if applicable)

- Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh, DDS, 2nd Degree Specialist, Head of Ho Chi Minh City Dental Hospital, Vice President of HSDi
- Dr. Lam Huu Duc, DDS, 2nd Degree Specialist, Former Professor at Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City
- Mr. Huu Luan, eminent artist, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Organizing and Performing Company
PRIZES:
Include 3 prizes (1st, 2nd and 3rd prize) for funny stories and 3 prizes (1st, 2nd and 3rd prize) for comics.
- 1st prize: 5.000.000 VND and 4 funny story journals
- 2nd prize: 4.000.000 VND and 4 funny story journals
- 3rd prize: 3.000.000 VND and 4 funny story journals
- Consolation prizes: 4 funny story journals (for the remaining chosen funny stories and comics)
IMPORTANT DAYS
Submission days: 5th August 2019 – 30th September 2019.
Prize Announcement: 22nd October 2019
Prize Award: 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded at Gala Dinner in the evening of 7th December 2019 (Awardees will have invitation letter). Consolation prizes will be awarded at the Reception of the Congress on 7th and 8th December 2019.
HSDi would hope to receive as many submissions from all dentists, dental technicians, students and employees in the dental society.
